This Sunday we will not only celebrate Mother’s Day, but we will also celebrate the Festival of the Christian Home. In this way, the day is a tribute our own mothers and those who are mothers, but also to those who surround us with love in our Christian home.
Our Gospel reading for this Sunday is John 14: 1-14 in which Jesus says goodbye to His disciples and says in verse 3: “I go and prepare a place for you”. He is telling his disciples he is going ahead to prepare a dwelling-place, a home for them. He promises to never leave them alone, that they did not need to fear or worry about their lives whether on earth or in heaven. We can take comfort and reassurance from this promise as Jesus not only makes a home for us, He makes His home within us. In this way, wherever we live – we belong to Jesus and thus we belong to each other.
This Sunday we celebrate our home together as a Christian family as we are upheld and surrounded in His love and peace. For us there is “no place like home.”
Blessings, Pastor Allyson
Lord Jesus, if and when we feel homeless, remind us that You are our home. May we share this sense of belonging with those we meet. Amen

Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
We will be setting up the Field of Flags the week before the parade, more details to follow.
